Taking graduate-level courses pertaining to a specialty within the nursing field is required for RNs looking to qualify for an advanced practice nursing position. Graduation from an MSN program in Nevada is just one of the ways that a nurse will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to fill job positions that demand a higher level of responsibility. Healthcare professionals with an MSN often go on to become family nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse managers, and nurse educators.
Earning an advanced degree in nursing generally opens the doors to jobs that offer a higher salary. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), MSN-degree related careers in Nevada pay the following median annual salaries for medical and health service managers ($103,110), nursing instructors and teachers ($81,910), and nurse practitioners ($97,040).
The BLS also identifies Nevada as one of the top five highest-paying states in the U.S. for nurse anesthetists, who typically earn a median yearly salary of $208,700.
